Devotion to Self

In today’s society we are forever pressured to help others, put others first. Always think of others before ourselves. It seems the moral trend is to devote ourselves to others. Most so called Spiritual people will say this is the only way to live. However today
I am going to challenge that notion.

I propose you take a life of devotion to self.

Before I am innundated with hatemail about how this is morally wrong and selfish allow me the chance to explain.
In today’s society money is required to enjoy the comforts of life. Good food, good health, good everything. Now, I know a few so called spiritual people who live in poverty, but who devote themselves entirely to others, they get sick often, they have poor diets. But there spiritual, so its all good right? NO.
These people assume they are spiritual because they sacrifice their own happiness for others. But thats not spirituality. Thats stupidity. Imagine that society is like a a giant machine. If these people were all cogs in the machine, and each one of them decided to sacrife their own maintenance for others, then eventually they are going to break, and the whole machine will start to collapse. However if each person/cog where to simply look after themselves, then each would start to become stressed, trying to take everything on themselves…they would then ultimately break.
There are two ways you can solve this problem. And they have been called many things, their most recent incarnations are: Being A) A Lightworker or B) A Darkworker
This article is about the Darkworker path, the one I have consciously chosen to persue.
I have chosen to help myself, to serve myself first and formost. So that as my own wellness increases. So will my ability to provide wellness to others. As I see it, I will be healthy so that I can be strong where others cannot. I will be wealthy so I can provide real value to others. I will be intelligent and well spoken so I can address the people properly and I will be impassioned with my own sense of power, so as to convey that to others and set their souls ablaze with righteous joy.
I feel that it is my ultimate purpose to serve others. But not in a Lightworker way. I believe that although Lightworkers will be needed, there is an equal demand for Darkworkers. Especailly now, forceful action needs to be taken, and I think only one with a Darkworker outlook can provide that force, can take the immediate action needed.

Doing something for others is still done by you (the doer), and if the doer is not well then the doing will also be poor and ineffective. So I agree with what you have written, and I think this is an issue of balance more than anything.

    Keep well

How do you propose to achieve a sense of success in your life without the help of others? If you serve yourself first, then its less likely you will invite abundance into your life. As you learn to alter the frame through which you see the world, you will nterpret things differently. As you sense meanings change, your behaviour and priorities change too.
